The Story

Plastic People is a clothing brand started by Chuck Guarino in the Lower East Side, New York City in late 2003, influenced mainly by 70's punk rock mixed with late 80's surf culture. "I wanted to create a brand for bodyboarders that looked cool and was something I would actually wear. Plastic People was created with a rebellious attitude, giving bodyboarders, and both street and beach punks a brand they can identify with."

Guarino developed the unique Plastic People style from within his underground studio drawing inspiration from the streets of downtown New York. One of the first bodyboarding brands and easily the most cutting edge, Plastic People has always been a leader with of one of the strongest teams in the industry.
